Although almost all cricket lovers are waiting eagerly for the moment, legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is not thinking about his 100th ton.
The Master Blaster, on the other hand, would rather enjoy his time playing the game than burden himself with the milestone or talk about the hype that this landmark has been gathering over the last few months.
Speaking to Channel Nine during the Test series against Australia, Tendulkar said that he wanted to focus his mind on the game and to enjoy playing it but it was difficult to do considering the hoopla surrounding the century of centuries.
According to the iconic batsman, his main focus in the series is not getting to his 100th century in international cricket but to realize a very old dream and that is to win a series in Australia, something that the Indian cricket team has never done. According to the latest cricket odds, there is more chance of Tendulkar hitting his 100 than India winning the series.
Sachin Tendulkar scored the last of his 99 international centuries at Nagpur against South Africa during a World Cup match and in the 19 innings he has played since then, he has come close on several occasions, including being out on 94 against the West Indies in the recently concluded Test series at home.
Tendulkar missed out on his 100th ton against Australia after being bowled by Peter Siddle on 73 during the first innings of the first Test at Melbourne. His batting was so brilliant that legendary Australian cricketer Ian Chappell said that it reminded him of the Sachin Tendulkar of old and he is sure that the Little Maestro will definitely get his record ton in the series.
But the Little Champion is not bothered about all the talk that the century has been generating and is hell bent on winning the series for India, century or no century.
