NARINE IS UNPLAYABLE

The skipper of the West Indies Cricket team, Darren Sammy, said that the mystery spinner Sunil Narine is simply unplayable under the conditions of West Indies. Sunil Narine took 13 wickets in the 5 match series against New Zealand with an excellent economy rate of 2.92. In the 4th and 5th ODI, when Narine came to bowl, New Zealand was going very well. But, as soon as Narine came to bowl, he put the brakes on the run rate and the batsmen started struggling to rotate the strike.

Narine hasn’t performed that well on the recent England tour. He was not able to get a wicket in the last test, which was a rain interrupted encounter. In the two ODIs and one T20 that he played, he was able to get only one wicket. But, he came back well in the New Zealand series. He has a lot of variations and he can spin the ball both ways without changing his action much. So, it is very difficult for the batsmen to pick him.

Narine said that West Indies has won a home series after a while and he is very happy to be a part of the series winning squad. He said that after being the man of the match in the 4th ODI, there is less pressure on him in the 5th ODI and he was more relaxed. He said that the batsmen again did a good job by setting a decent target which gave the bowlers a platform to attack the New Zealand batsmen.

As per Narine, he is working very hard in the nets and working on some more varieties. New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor has also admitted that Narine played a very important role in the series and their batsmen have to work really hard in the test series to counter Sunil Narine.
